Italy Rules

The D & D Guide to a Successful Trip:
  • All school rules will be in effect at all times
  • Attire must be school appropriate. If your clothing is deemed inappropriate, it must be changed or you will be confined to your room until you change. Figure that if you cannot wear it to school on a dress down day, you cannot wear it on the trip.
  • Note: Please read the Clothes Packing section of the “What to Pack” page. Italian clothes differ from American Clothes.
  • Shirts and shoes should be worn at all times when outside the hotel room.
  • Check your Itinerary. Some Churches/Cathedrals we will visit will not allow you in with Shorts or Uncovered Shoulders.
  • Students must attend and eat at every breakfast
  • Handling luggage is the student’s responsibility. Pack only what you can carry.
  • There will be NO PLAYING of instruments in the hotel.
  • Students must be in groups of 3 or more whenever they are not in their room.
The following offences will result in either room grounding or chaperone detention:
  • Failure to show up for breakfast
  • Failure to show up on time at a check in time or any event
  • Behavior problems or inappropriate clothing
  • Not being in groups of 3 or more
  • Excessive room noise and/or lack of respect for other hotel guests
The following offenses will result in extensive room grounding or chaperone detention AND suspension upon return to school:
  • Continued violations of any of the above rules
  • Tobacco, Nicotine, Vape or Alcohol use or possession
  • Insubordination, Hotel Vandalism and/or Fighting
  • Illegal activities (will be reported to local police)
The following offenses will result in the student being flown home prior to the conclusion of the trip at the parent’s expense:
  • Leaving any location (including hotel property) without permission
  • Leaving without permission and/or severe behavior problems
  • Being out of the room or in the wrong room during curfew
Please understand that we would not be taking this trip if we did not feel that we could trust the student’s abilities to make good decisions. We do not anticipate any major problems as the students have demonstrated their ability to handle the responsibility of a trip such as this. The above guidelines, however, do need to be stated. We want this trip to be safe, fun and successful for all of those involved. These are phenomenal students, and we love being able to take them on this trip.
